S.T.E.A.M. Education emphasizes a new way of teaching and learning that focuses on hands-on inquiry and open-ended exploration. It allows students with diverse interests, abilities, and experiences to develop skills they will need in the 21st century workforce. It is a shift away from the teacher presenting information and covering science topics to the teacher guiding and assisting students in problem-solving while encouraging them to take the lead in their own learning. (Cameron & Craig, 2016)
Our Class Expectations
Your success, and that of our class, depends on your ability to participate in collaborative learning!
Collaborative learning is a strategy in which small groups of students, each with different levels of ability and diverse interests and experiences, work together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product. Each student is individually accountable for their own work, and the work of the group as a whole (Cameron & Craig, 2016).
